Never Summer Ale On Sale Now (or soon enough)
Boulder Beer Company Welcomes The New Guy
News from the Brewery Pub - Book Your Holiday Party Here
Never Summer Ale is back. We've been waiting for months, but it's finally time - our big, bold winter seasonal is finally kegged, bottled and ready to ship. Look for it beginning next week on shelves or behind the bar wherever our beer is sold. Deep ruby red in color, assertively hopped and brewed with dark caramel malt, this beer is definitely "for the drinking town with a skiing problem."
Speaking of Boulder, if you can make it to our brewery this Friday, November 4, we're rolling it out with our famous Frozen Tee Shirt Contest. If you haven't seen it or participated, it's a hoot. Never heard of it? I'll let your imagination work for a while. We'll also have a snowflake cutting contest going on -- excellent: beer and scissors! --and $1.50 pints of Never Summer Ale from 4 to 8 pm. Please join us. (OK, where's your mind? We roll up and freeze a bunch of Never Summer Ale tee shirts, and the participant that puts theirs on first wins a free keg.)
I hope you get a chance to enjoy some on a cold night soon, as it doesn't get any better than this. Really. It doesn't. Never Summer Ale won the gold medal for strong ales in the 2004 World Beer Cup. Kudos to our boys in the brewhouse.

If you are within our distribution area and they don't have it at your retailer or behind your favorite bar, just remember to ask! They can get it if you want it. For more on where we can be found, click "distribution" at our website:

The surprise movie hit of last summer was the documentary "March of The Penguins." Well, this guy didn't get cast. And he's not too happy about it.

Traditional winter seasonal beers are warm and comforting - Not this penguin. Diving in at around 10 percent alcohol by volume, Killer Penguin uses twice the malt as other winter beers, was brewed in December '04 and has been aging for more than 8 months to perfect the flavor and condition of this barleywine style ale. This bird doesn't ferment - it hibernates, and wakes up with an attitude.
Be sure to ask your retailer to secure you some. Available in VERY limited distribution beginning November 9, this beer will be in 22 oz bottles and on draft at our brewery and a handful of locations. We'll let you know exactly where sometime in the next few weeks. Each beer bottle is hand-dipped in wax and marked with a 2005 emblem as it stands up well for cellaring, if you're into that.
Full disclosure time: Webguy tried some Killer Penguin last Friday. Morning.
Man, that was a big, smooth, smooth beer. Not that I'm partial, but you can take this as a major recommendation.

Boulder Beer is pleased to welcome a new member to our team. Scott Nelson started November 1 as our Vice President of Sales. Scott has a great history in the beer industry and will be hitting the road to the hinterlands soon to see just what's shaking outside of Colorado. But first he's got to have a beer:

We took his picture on his first day - we'll see what he looks like in a year ("Oh that poor man; he looked so young before. It reminds me of what happened to Jimmy Carter after four years in the White House.")

And Finally, this month's quote:
"I dig crazy chicks."
-- Head Brewer Steve Trese, single guy, during a discussion of nutjob neighbors. Think you're crazy enough for him? He can be reached at strese@boulderbeer.com
Again, thank you, from all of us at Boulder Beer.
Cheers! - Dan the Webguy
